Adding Japanese Cards to the Collection?

Besides wondering how to show off my collection, which I still need to do, I have stumbled across the Japanese Pokemon sets. I knew they existed, but I hadn't realised I could actually get booster boxes of them. It started just out of curiosity, but now I really want to collect them as well.

Bulbapedia has a great site for finding the names of each set. The Plasma Freeze for example, has two different sets in Japan that make up the English counterpart, Spiral Force and Thunder Knuckle.

Here's a link to show the different versions. LINKAGE! (English on the left, Japanese on the right.)

The Japanese booster boxes are wayyy cheaper, but they also have less cards. Each booster box comes with 30 packs, each booster pack has 5 cards. Which I think is new. Maybe.

Anyway, I thought I'd update the blog with my current thoughts. Eagerly awaiting pay day so I can make a purchase or two. Some birthdays are coming up so money will be tight. :P

Mass update! - 18/07/2013

The idea of a blog has been in our mind holes since we started collecting them again. So because of that I've been taking photos of all my recent purchases. The only problem with this is, we hadn't actually begun the blog, so the pictures I'm about to show are a little out dated.

30/05/2013 : Besides two cheeky booster packs from the local toy store we purchased on the beginnings of our nostalgia trip, my first proper purchase was the Plasma Freeze booster box! My first booster box!

I attempted my first video opening with this booster box.....that'll be left in a secure underground vault! I'll eventually be putting up video openings, but for the time being it'll just be photos.

15/06/2013 : Decided Plasma Freeze will be my first collection for the new start. Purchased a goody bag of Plasma Freeze items. Besides the Team Plasma Box in the back, I'll be keeping the rest sealed.

20/06/2013 : Here I've bought the Plasma Freeze portfolio to house my new Plasma Freeze cards. Also shown is the two new Checklane Blisters that have come out. (I'll be keeping two of them sealed.)

10/06/2013 : Took a trip to Tesco and noticed they only had a few Checklane Blister packs from, I think the Boundaries Crossed series? Anyway, I bought the last three available. Keeping two sealed and opened one to see what was inside! First time I came across a 'Sample Pack'. Still seems a bit odd to me!

15/07/2013 : Ash surprised me with a few awesome booster packs this morning! Plus a Pokemon League badge! We'd been looking on YouTube at the POP series packs out of curiosity, and I may have mentioned that I'd like to collect each booster pack sealed at some point..... Bish, bash, bosh! Da-daaa! ... True love right there!

18/07/2013 : Now that's me caught right up. Only thing left for me to do is post up my current collection. I'll do that when I've got some time. May even include a video for it....

Tuesday 16 July 2013

Been venturing in the local shops for Pokemon cards recently, but it seems here in the UK it's difficult to come by them.  Not so long ago myself and Ash ventured into one of the local Tesco's to see if there was any Pokemon lurking about. Low and behold!!! There was a few booster packs and blisters! Oddly, none of the new Plasma Freeze stuff, or any of the Plasma themes for that matter. We've been in two Tesco stores now and the stock seems to vary quite dramatically.

Anyway! Just came back from Tesco with a little something unexpected!

A Checklane blister box (empty) and pack!

There were two of these boxes, both with Checklane blister packs in them. I felt a little naughty emptying one box and filling the other, cramming them all in together. So I ended up buying a blister pack as well, because it felt a little awkward taking just an empty box.....

Booster pack had no great pulls, but the coin was new. Ash got the coin....buttmuncher!

Now I have a cool Pokemon box to put my sealed Checklane blisters into! All in all, a good day for Pokemons.

The Updates have finally begun!

Will be updating this blog more frequently now! The lack of funds, but the interest in cards is surely going to take it's toll. Ash suggested to update the blog and keep my interests at bay whilst not spending the money I don't have.

So be it!

Just in case you may have missed it. Ash and I posted in our 'About' sections. A brief history into our beginnings.

Until next time!
